"It started with an idea.....

I developed a recipe for snack bars, hand-crafted and made with love the old-fashioned way. They became so popular with our cafe customers, that we packaged them, making the bars easier to carry for sports, lunches, snacks-on-the-go .... and we named them 'The Crafty Weka Bar'.

Ingredients include peanuts, oats and nutrient-rich seeds - designed to satisfy your appetite between meals, on a long day, or a long ride. I have carefully adjusted the amounts of each ingredient for easier digestion. Crafty Weka Bars have a good blend of low, medium and high GI carbohydrates for sustained energy; sesame seeds for calcium and vital minerals including selenium; pumpkin seeds to give you B vitamins for energy; sunflower seeds for vitamin E and a wide range of other nutrients.

Honey is the main sweetener, providing fast-acting glucose for get-up-and-go, and slower absorbed fructose for improved performance. Honey is also a natural preservative, helping to keep your Crafty Weka Bar at peak freshness.

Our packaging is all recyclable and degradable - and the inner wrapper is designed for those times when you can't eat the whole bar at once. An outer layer of card protects the Crafty Weka Bar when you pack it in your bag or backpack, and I created the wooden display boxes from plywood made of sustainable New Zealand pine.
